The Iredell County Jail & Detention Center is the single detention center serving the county and has a 501-person capacity. Within North Carolina, the Iredell County Detention Center is recognised as a level five facility in the state. How to Send Money to an Inmate in Iredell County Jail?

Members of the public can send money to inmates in the Iredell County Jail using the Main Jail Lobby Kiosk, especially for money orders and cash deposits. To do so:

  • Call the service provider and schedule at (866) 232-1899.
  • Make the deposit at the Lobby Kiosk by calling or completing the payment online at the Touch Pay Direct website.
  • For the online option, senders must have the inmates ID number.

Inmates are only allowed to have up to $250. All snacks, clothes, and writing materials must be purchased at the commissary and not mailed. Mailed clothing items and gifts will be returned

Iredell County Visitation Rules and Schedules

Visitation in Iredell County is by appointment only and must be scheduled at least a day before this visit. It is by video and lasts for 15 minutes. Visitors are limited to two adults and their children.

Inmates who work in the Iredell County Detention Center can, however, get 1 hour of visitation if they are not on schedule to work. For dress codes, visitors must wear shoes and proper shirts. No bags or cameras are allowed in the visitation area.

Mailing and Commissary Information

Iredell County has an inmate messaging system where families, friends, or other interested persons can send mail, photos, and documents (in picture format) to inmates for instant delivery. To use this service, set up an account at www.NCIC.com.

The requirements for sending inmates physical mail are a lot more stringent.

  • The sender must include the inmate’s name and number and the return address on the envelope.
  • The mail must be 8.5 inches tall and 11 inches tall
  • The mail must not exceed 5 pages
  • Inmates may receive not more than 1 photo per day. Any mail over that number would be returned.
  • Books, newspapers, legal or medical mail cannot be mailed. They are to be sent to the county jail subject to the rules.
